Who can apply?

Applicants must be licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) or Nurse Practitioners in good standing. The program is designed for both experienced injectors and those who are new to aesthetic medicine.

Is this a degree program?

No. This is a postgraduate certificate program offered by AFAAAS in academic partnership with the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. Upon successful completion, graduates receive an Aesthetic Medicine Certificate.

How long is the program?

The program runs for 12 consecutive weeks with classes held on Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Where are classes held?

Classes and clinical training are held on the University of Miami Coral Gables campus at the S.H.A.R.E. Simulation Hospital and Advanced Research and Education facilities.

How many hours are included?

There are 60 total contact hours, consisting of:

  • 40 hours of didactic education.
  • 20 hours of supervised clinical practicum.

Is hands-on training included?

Yes. Students participate in supervised clinical training and hands-on experiences with live models.

Will I learn ultrasound-guided aesthetics?

Yes. Ultrasound fundamentals and complication management are included as part of the curriculum.

What is the tuition?

Current tuition is $20,500. Tuition information and payment options are available through our admissions office.

When does the next cohort begin?

Our next cohort begins on August 22, and classes are held on Saturdays for twelve weeks.

How many students are accepted?

Class sizes are intentionally limited to 20 to 30 students to provide personalized instruction and maximize hands-on learning opportunities.

Will I be ready to start practicing aesthetic medicine after graduation?

The program provides a strong foundation in aesthetic medicine and extensive practical training. Graduates leave with the knowledge and confidence to incorporate aesthetic procedures into their practice while continuing to develop their skills and experience.

Is previous aesthetic experience required?

No. Many students enter the program with little or no prior aesthetic experience.

Do I receive continuing education credits?

This program awards a certificate upon completion. It is structured as a postgraduate educational program rather than a continuing education course.
